History & Culture

Perechyn Region: Where Heritage Inspires Innovation

First recorded in 1399, the Perechyn region has roots that reach far deeper. Archaeological discoveries from the Early Iron Age reveal a history of settlement long before written chronicles began. The area is home to rare wooden churches in the Boyko and Lemko traditions, ethnographic museums, artisanal crafts, and enduring spiritual practices — all forming a vibrant, living heritage.

This cultural richness reflects centuries of peaceful coexistence among Ukrainians, Slovaks, Hungarians, Roma, and other communities. Here, tradition is not simply preserved — it is lived. This unique cultural foundation has shaped a modern, forward-looking community that honors its past while building an inclusive, innovation-driven future.

Education

Investing in Education That Builds the Future

The community is actively investing in modern, practical education. By revitalizing vocational schools, modernizing general education facilities, and promoting STEM disciplines, Perechyn equips its youth with the skills that matter. Local schools partner with businesses to provide hands-on training — preparing students for real careers in manufacturing, green energy, and service industries.

For Perechyn, education is not just a public service — it is a cornerstone of long-term prosperity and a catalyst for sustainable economic and social growth.

Here, people don’t just find a place — they find a community.

An Emerging Industrial Hub in Western Ukraine

Perechyn is fast becoming a dynamic industrial center in the Zakarpattia region. It is home to:

  • Friendly Wind Technologies — the only full-cycle wind turbine manufacturer in Ukraine;

  • Klever&Kompas — specializing in light industry, metalworking, and component manufacturing.

The local economy is further supported by woodworking, furniture production, and food manufacturing.

Perechyn is also the launch site of CHOVEN — Ukraine’s first eco-industrial park, built around principles of sustainability, innovation, and high-tech integration.

With direct access to EU markets and a skilled workforce, Perechyn offers substantial potential for industrial growth and long-term investment.

Sports & Entertainment

Developing a Thriving Sports Infrastructure

We are actively enhancing our sports infrastructure. Field hockey, the national sport, sees the local team among the national leaders. The community supports sports schools, modern playgrounds, and regular tournaments in football, volleyball, and athletics. Plans include the construction of a state-of-the-art field hockey stadium with artificial turf, running tracks, and volleyball courts. With seating for 200 spectators, lighting, and modern facilities, it will become a hub for local sports activity.

In Perechyn, sports are more than just competition — they are a way of life, offering valuable opportunities for children and youth.

Healthcare

Building a Modern, Inclusive Healthcare System

We are developing a healthcare system that is modern, accessible, and prevention-focused — with strong emphasis on rehabilitation and mental health. The region is served by a network of outpatient clinics, including family medicine centers, and actively supports digitalization and private-sector involvement.

As part of our broader innovation strategy, Perechyn is planning the development of a dedicated medical cluster — designed to foster advanced care, research, and health-related entrepreneurship.

Reimagining Roads as Engines of Sustainable Growth

In our region, roads are more than infrastructure — they are strategic arteries for economic transformation. Looking ahead, every route is envisioned as a platform to generate energy, reduce emissions, and boost the local economy.

We are preparing to implement next-generation transport solutions that integrate solar panels, rainwater harvesting systems, and smart mobility technologies — turning transit corridors into drivers of sustainability and innovation.
